Instead, block off a specific time in your calendar on a regular basis to look at your finances. We recommend scheduling a short time each week, and a longer time on a monthly basis.

2: Look for Discounts

Every business has expenses. Sometimes, we get so accustomed to paying for those expenses that we stop looking for ways to save.

If you have any expenses that are locked into annual contracts, keep track of your renewal period and take time to look for a better deal as the end of the contract approaches. For instance, you may be able to find a cheaper alternative to your current internet bill with another company. But your current internet provider may offer a discounted package to keep you from canceling with them.

If you are regularly repurchasing a product, find out whether you can purchase it in higher bulk at a discounted rate.

Always be on the lookout for ways to save on the expenses you already have!

3: Consolidate Debt

While some businesses are able to function without taking on debt, most businesses need to take on some form of debt if they want to scale. Debt is not inherently bad, but it can impact your business finances.

There are also software options to help automate some of your invoicing. You can set up recurring automated payments for your clients, and even set up automated reminders so that you can spend less time tracking down late payments.
